Flame Jumpsuit
History
This was the very last "new" jumpsuit that was made for Elvis, and what he got to wear on-stage. After this suit, he mostly relied on some of the "old" ones .
It has been said that Elvis didn't like this suit very much. It was too "flashy", even for him.
Interestingly, Elvs had two versions of this suit, one with red kickpleats and other one with orange kickpleats.
Black Spanish Flower Jumpsuit
History
There was a 'counterpart' for this suit; Black Spanish Flower (with red stones), which was exactly like this one, but with red stones. Elvis wore it during his 1974 August/September Las Vegas engagement.
There was also a white version; White Spanish Flower, which was worn during the same Las Vegas engagement as this one (1973 August/September).
Mexican Sundial Jumpsuit
History
The "Mexican Sundial" made it's debut during the very short October 1974 Tahoe engagement, but after that, it wasn't worn again until 1977.
Although some claim that there were at least two versions made of this suit, it's not true. There was only ONE version made, and this has even been confirmed by Gene Doucette, Elvis' original wardrobe designer.
This was the suit that Elvis wore during the filming of the 1977 tv-special "Elvis In Concert, as well as on his last concert on June 26th, 1977 in Indianapolis.
White Spanish Flower Jumpsuit
History
First worn during the 1973 August/September Las Vegas engagement. Elvis wore it again on his 1974 January/February Vegas engagement.
Elvis used the belt of this suit with the Peacock suit during his 1974 May tour.
For some reason, this suit is often confused with the Blue Rain Suit. They both have big blue stones on them, so they do look very similar when looking from a distance, but they do have some major differences also; for example the belts are very different, and that's one good way to tell them apart.
Peacock Jumpsuit
History
When Elvis first wore this suit, he didn't wear it with the original belt, but with the White Spanish Flower belt instead.
According to the rumours, this was the most expensive jumpsuit Elvis ever got, costing approximately $10.000.
In early August 2008, this suit was sold at an auction for US$300,000, which is the most anyone (a private collector) has ever paid of an original suit worn by Elvis.
Blue Fireworks Jumpsuit
History
Also know as the 'Owl Suit'
Elvis also had two other "Fireworks" suits; Black Fireworks and White Fireworks.
This was one of the jumpsuits Elvis wore during the filming of the 1972 documentary film "Elvis On Tour".
Nail Studded Suit
History
Elvis first wore this suit during the 1973 April tour. Besides the Original belt, Elvis wore the Pharao belt.
During the June/July tour Elvis wore the belt of this suit with the "Pharao" suit.
This suit had a counterpart: Nail Mirrored Suit. It had only one minor difference compared to this one: where this suit has the big different coloured stones, the "Nail Mirrored Suit" has tiny mirrors.
Chinese Dragon
History
This suit was first worn during the latter part of the 1974 August/September Las Vegas engagement, and then again several times during the following tour (September/October).
In 1976, when the belt buckle of the "Egyptian Belt" broke down, Elvis replaced it with the "Chinese Dragon" belt buckle.
Concho Suit
History
One of the jumpsuits Elvis wore during the filming of the 1970 documentary film "Elvis - That's The Way It Is".
This is the only "TTWII jumpsuit" Elvis did not wear again during his two 1970 tours, but he did use it again in 1971
Black Butterfly
History
This suit is, basically, a reversed version of the White Pyramid. The nails on the suit are tiny butterflies.
One of the suits that was only worn in Vegas, and never on tour. Apparently, there were two slightly different versions of this suit. The other, which can be seen on the "costume fitting" pictures, has yellow lined cape, and yellow kick pleats, and the other, which has been on display at Graceland, has gold lined cape and kick pleats.
Black Cisco Kid Jumpsuit
History
There were several "Cisco Kid" jumpsuits and two-piece suits made, but none of them were ever worn outside Vegas/Tahoe (on tour), with the exception of some of the two-piece "Cisco Kid" jackets. Elvis wore them as casual wear during 1974.
This is one of the suits that was sold in EPE's auction held in the 90's ... it is still in the hands of a private collector (SH).
American Eagle (Aloha)
History
Two almost identical versions were made of this suit, which were both worn during the 'Aloha shows'.
Apparently, the suit Elvis wore during the rehearsal show was slightly bigger. It's also the version Elvis wore later on tour (and in Vegas) in 1973 and 1974.
